Wednesday July 2nd 2014 - DRAWN BY THE FATHER

DRAWN BY THE FATHER Memorise: No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I wick raise him up at the last day. John 6:44 “I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1 In the above scripture, David did not just say he waited, but that he waited patiently. The implication of this is that the Christian race is not a sprint but a marathon. The journey to Heaven is not something you do in just a day, but rather what may take a whole lifetime. Due to the emphasis placed on the gospel of the return of Jesus Christ, some people believed He would come the very next day or week after they received He would come the very next day or week they received Him into their hearts. When my friends and I were newly converted, we thought so too. In fact, I had to encourage one of my friends to continue with his studies because he felt since Jesus was coming at moment, it was pointless going to school. Similarly, in those days, we we...

Tuesday July 1st 2014 - PEACE LIKE A RIVER

PEACE LIKE A RIVER Memorise: O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then had thy peace been as a river and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea. Isaiah 48:18 If you desire to combine long life with pleasurable days, you must keep your tongue from evil, do good, and depart from evil. You must seek peace and pursuer it. This means that wherever there is a conflict, you must do everything in your power to install peace. You must vigorously follow after peace. Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” From this scripture, we see that there is a link between our relationship with God and the type, duration and extent of our peace. Isaiah 9:6 calls Jesus the Prince of peace. In other words, Jesus is the manufacturer and true custodian of peace. There is no way you can enjoy lasting peace without first pleasing Him. What kind of peace are you enjoying? The peace that you have is a reflection of your relationsh...

Monday June 30th 2014 - SEE YOURSELF IN A POSITIVE LIGHT.

SEE YOURSELF IN A POSITIVE LIGHT. Memorise: For as he thinketh in his hearth, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. Proverbs 23:7 God honours faith. Faith is crucial to our walk with God. You need faith to be born-again. You need faith to live a life that pleases God. You need faith to prosper as a true child of God. You need faith to be healthy and live long in the land of the living. You need faith to fulfil your destiny. “Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23 The problem with many people is not with their belief in God; it is with their failure to believe in themselves. Many people do not believe in their ability to do what the word of God says they can do. You must believe in yourself. One reason you must believe in yourself is because God believes in you. If God did not believe in you, He wouldn’t have created you in His own image or endowed you with His capability and qualities ...

Sunday June 29th 2014 - AVERTING DISQUALIFICATION

AVERTING DISQUALIFICATION Memorise: But I keep under my body, and bring it unto subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 1 Corinthians 9:27 A grave peril of Christian leadership is that of disqualification. Every Christian leader must be obedient, prayerful, watchful, and temperate and self- disciplined so that after acting as a herald who bids others into the Kingdom of God, he himself should not miss Heaven. As a leader, it possible to be disqualified by God. In 1 Samuel 15:20-24, we see Saul being disqualified by God: “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king,” 1 Samuel 15:23 No person is indispensable. As a Christian leader, you should always be conscious of the fact that God as substitutes. I pray that you will not be rejected by God in Jesus’ Name. One factor that is responsible for d...
