BLESSED HOPE – Sunday November 2nd 2014

BLESSED HOPE – Sunday November 2 nd 2014 Memorise: Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 2:13 Read: Titus 2:11-14, Bible in one year: 2 nd Kings 1-2, Proverbs 20:18-30 What is our hope as Christians, and why have we chosen to turn our backs on the world and its pleasures? It is the hope of glory, honour, immortality and an eternity spent in the bosom of our Lord (Romans 2:7). This mother of all hopes shall be made manifest at the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. Normally, a person hopes for something good and pleasant. However, for the children of God, there is no hope that compares with the return of Jesus to Earth. It is on account of this hope of Jesus returning for His people, that Apostle Paul confident declared in 1 st Thessalonians 4:13-14 that: “But I would not have you to be ignorant brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe tha...

HOW HIGH IS YOUR VOLTAGE? – Saturday November 1st 2014

HOW HIGH IS YOUR VOLTAGE? Memorise: Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 2 nd Corinthians 2:14 Read: 2 nd Corinthians 2:14-17, Bible in one year: 1 Kings 21:17-22:53, Proverbs 20:4-17 The level of decadence in the world in these last days is on the increase, just as predicted in the Bible (Matthew 24:12). There is widespread acceptance of degenerate behaviours just like the Bible said it would be (2 nd Timothy 3:1-8). Believers that are still here on earth, seeing and hearing all these evil on a daily basis, no doubt have a responsibility of ensuring that they operate at a very high spiritual voltage level. A believer at a low spiritual voltage level, risks being overwhelmed by the moral and spiritual current of the world, with the potential of being swallowed up by same. Whereas, the expectation of the Lord is that our high voltage of righteousness would flow and overwhelm the dec...

DIVINE PROMOTION FOR THE WISE – Friday October 31st 2014

DIVINE PROMOTION FOR THE WISE Memorise: The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. Proverbs 3:35 Read: Psalm 75:5-7, Bible in one year: 1 st Kings 19:19-21:16, proverbs 19:19-20:3 Divine promotion is a reward for those who live holy. God is the Judge and only He can promote you. The devil is not the one who will promote you. There are two types of promotion according to Proverbs 3:35. These are: glory and shame. There is glorious promotion for the wise and shameful promotion for the fools. Who are the wise? The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 1:7). Those who are wise fear God, and because of this, they live a holy life. They depart from sin. God says that such people will have a glorious promotion. A classical example of a wise man, who as a result of his fear of God abstained from sin, is Joseph in Egypt. He refused to have carnal knowledge of his master’s wife, though it was offered to him ‘free of charge’. In ...

THE REDEMPTIVE NAMES OF GOD – Thursday October 30th 2014

THE REDEMPTIVE NAMES OF GOD Memorise: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21 Read: Exodus 6:2-8, Bible in one year: 1 st Kings 18:1-19:18, Proverbs 19:5-18 Our God is the only one that has the ability to save to the uttermost. He has many redemptive names which include: Jehovah El-Shaddai, Jehovah Rophekah, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Jireh, Jehovah Shalom and Jehovah Rohi. The name Jehovah El-Shaddai, reveals God as the Almighty; the all in all (Acts 17:28). God is more that enough to nourish you, strengthen you and to supply all of your needs (Philippians 4:19). The name Jehovah Ropheka means the Lord our Healer. Christ is still in the business of healing His people today. Just as He healed in the Bible days, He can as well heal today, because there is nothing like the age miracles, but rather we have the God of miracles. Are you in need of healing? Call on Jehovah Ropheka and you will be healed. An...

THE EAGLES AMBASSADORS Memorise: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 Read: Isaiah 40:28-31, Bible in one year: 1 st Kings 15:33-17:24, Proverbs 18:15-19:4 God has favourites. Certain animals are viewed as God’s favourites because of the way they were used in describing His character in the Bible. For example, the lion: our Lord is described as the Lion of the tribe of Judah in Revelation 5:5. Another is the eagle: God in Exodus 19:4, used the eagle to describe His character of protecting His own. There is much to learn from the eagle. Because the eagle is the king of birds, it has many characteristic that distinguish it from other ordinary birds. A study of some of these characteristic will enable us know how we ought to comport ourselves, manifest what we have been created to be, do what we have been called to do, and have what Jesus C...
