Inordinate ambition denotes canvassing for promotion with the motive of being seen and approved of by men. God expects all His children to present their bodies as a living sacrifice to Him. He also expects our sacrifices to be holy and acceptable (Romans 12:1). However, He makes it clear that He prefers obedience to sacrifice.
